Garway Federation League Team Convincing win over Broadwas!

The first Federation League games for the club were played over two lawns yesterday (29th May 2024), Broadwas travelled to Garway with 3 players, Garway was represented in their whites by Simon Collinson, Brent Watkins and Andrew Bailey.

The morning games consisted of a singles and doubles match, both of which were won by Garway - Brent winning clearly by 25-15 and the doubles played until time and Garway won on score 14-10.

After lunch, there were three singles games, Simon won his convincingly within time. Whilst Andrew battled with his opponent, after a shaky start, he came back strongly in the last hour to carve out a win. Brent was pipped to the post by his opponent who had pegged out one of his balls 8min before the end of the game, and on his final shot was able to peg out his final ball with a spectacular long shot on the peg.

This meant that Garway walked away with a 4-1 win over their competitors. Huge congratulations to all the players.

No rest for the team as Saturday 1st June they have their next home game against Kington Langley. The sun is due to shine, so it would be lovely to see some support for the players!
