New Champions Crowned!

Although the weather could have been kinder, it also could have been worse for the Garway finals day!

First to face each other, competing to become club AC Singles Champion were Mark Oldale and Bryan Gidley, it was a tough game with Mark having to be mindful of the bisques Bryan had at his disposal. Eventually Mark came away with the win, pegging out within the allotted time limit and securing his name on the singles trophy for the first time (but surely not the last!) , Congratulations Mark!

Next up were the two semi finals for the Garway Golf Rules. Semi Final 1 saw Steve & Jen playing Chris & Gerald, and Steve & Jen came away winners after some entertaining play from both teams. Simon & Rachel faced Bryan & Mike, defending doubles winners from 2023, Bryan and Mike took the lead, and it ended 6-6 through the final hoop, which meant first to hit the peg would go through, Simon and Rachel managed to secure the win, which meant they were in the final with Steve & Jen. Steve and Jen had a strong start, and in a replay of their semi final, Simon and Rachel had to score the last two hoops to get level, which meant the first to hit the hoop would win, Jen secured the win for her and Steve just as the raining was starting to pour! - Congratulations to the winners the first time their names appear on the doubles trophy.
